Flipbook Animations

I stumbled upon this site...and thought I would share with you. It is a great diversion, when you have "down-time," of course. I showed it to my five-year-old, and taught him the basics of animation. He was amazed at how easy it was to make a cartoon.

You start with the first page in your notebook and draw your picture. Then, flip to the next page and draw the same image slightly different, and so on. When you are satisfied, hold the edge of the pages with your thumb and index finger, and flip the pages with rapidly.

We'll see if he created any in his school notebooks. I remember when I first learned how to animate something like this. My notebooks were filled with flipbook animations. Have fun!
